WAIN, SAMUEL & CO. LLP
THE FIRM

Wain, Samuel & Co. LLP, Certified Public Accountants, is a diversified full-service firm established on the Peninsula in 1962, by Jack Wain and Howard Samuel. The founders retired in 1986, at which time the firm had a partner and staff complement of approximately 25 members.

In the early 90s several partners left the firm and Mark Setzen and Tom Friebel continued the partnership under its original name, retaining a substantial % of the original clients. Improvements in technology and productivity, the elimination of low-end services such as basic bookkeeping, and concentration on higher-end services has enabled the firm to operate efficiently with a stable complement of two partners and four professional and administrative staff members.

Our philosophy of person-to-person service means that all engagements for a client are under the supervision of one person, the Partner-in-Charge. Other specialists from our staff are assigned to the engagement as required. Our professional staff includes a Certified Public Accountant with an M.S. in Taxation, who assists with complex tax returns, tax research, and estate planning.
